Dylan Redman

Dylan Redman has been performing since the age of 16. Based in Melbourne, Australia, this drummer/strummer/singer/songwriter enjoys funk, rock, blues, hip hop, latin and other styles of music. He has toured extensively in USA, Europe and Australia. As a drummer/percussionist, Dylan has played with and for artists such as Simeon, Clara Rhoden, Tarun Stevenson, Tiani O’Neill, Soda Nation, 2-11, Canvas, Paradox 715, James Peden and Sundry Syndrome. He has played in various venues including The Espy, Crown Casino and The Swan Hotel and at events like the UK’s Cross Rhythms Festival, and Queensland’s Easterfest.
‘from darkness to light’ is Dylan’s first solo CD released in 2008. Writing in ‘Beat Magazine’, Sharon Brookes commented: “Dylan Redman’s set has a social conscience and a real message. Singing lyrics about bullying, loss and body issues, he makes himself vulnerable, but it’s difficult to imagine he could sing about lesser things. Dylan draws from his life experiences and lightens the mood (ironically) by setting some fairly heavy issues to a beat. ‘Come Down’ was written about his missing brother, Owen. ‘Don’t Pick on the Fat Kid’ is about his experience with bullies. In fact, all songs on the CD ‘from darkness to light’ are meaningful and, as the title suggests, the music is a catharsis.”
